911 call answering, on behalf of your jurisdiction.

Coosada 911 answers 911 calls for partner jurisdictions with certified telecommunicators, location verification, structured caller interrogation, and warm transfer or unified dispatch depending on your agreement.

What the service covers

Under a call answering agreement, 911 calls originating in your jurisdiction route to our center. A certified telecommunicator answers, confirms the location, determines the nature of the emergency, and either dispatches your responders directly or transfers the call with the caller and all gathered information to your center.

  • 24/7/365 answering by APCO 7th Edition certified telecommunicators
  • Location verification and caller interrogation on every call
  • TTY and accessibility support
  • Primary or secondary PSAP, per your needs
  • On-demand language interpretation
  • Call recording and records retention
  • Warm transfer or unified dispatch, per agreement

How calls are handled

We are staffed so that call taking and dispatching happen at the same time. The telecommunicator on the line never has to finish the interview before units start rolling, and responders hear every update as it comes in.

Step 1

Answer

Calls are answered within the NENA answer-time standard written into your agreement, 24/7/365.

Step 2

Locate

Address and callback number are confirmed first, verified against GIS and device-based location data.

Step 3

Dispatch immediately

As soon as location and the nature of the call are known, units are dispatched by a dispatcher while the call taker stays with the caller. There is no wait for the interview to finish.

Step 4

Interrogate and instruct

Protocol-driven questions continue, with pre-arrival instructions such as CPR, bleeding control, or scene safety, until responders arrive.

Step 5

Update en route

Every new detail is pushed to responders by radio, CAD, and mobile app. Responders can also listen to the live call. For secondary-PSAP agreements, calls are warm-transferred with full context.

Who this fits

Municipalities that want to keep local response but no longer wish to operate a 24-hour answering point, and agencies that need a secondary answering point to meet staffing or coverage requirements.
